Fall 2007
Paper topics/reserach questions must be approved in writing before the midterm. Paper topics not approved by the midterm will receive a one letter grade deduction for each week after the midterm the paper topic is submitted. Submission of a topic does NOT constitute approval.
Be advised: Papers will be reviewed for plaigarism. Plaigarism will result in an immediate F in the course. All papers will be submitted for google search test and turnitin.com. Papers must be submitted via turnitin.com.
If you do not know how to write a research paper (cites, research, research questions, etc.) it is advisable to retake Freshman english prior to this course. I would encourage you to refer to the online writing lab guide for this information (online writing lab at Purdue).
There is no set length for papers. The length of the paper is based upon your research question.
All papers should have a clearly stated research question and the question should be answered via research.
Web sites alone are not suitable resources and should be validated via cross referencing.
Papers are expected to be professional and error free. Spell and grammar check your papers.
Papers should be submitted either in Word, PDF or text format via email with the class (CIS 320, name, and Paper in the subject line, e.g. cis320yourname Paper).
Papers must also be submitted to www.turnitin.com before they will be graded. Go to the site and use the class ID (TBA) and CIS 320 to create an account. Papers should still be submitted with lab materials. Password is 320cis
