Ok, you put everything in (don't hook up the HD or CD at this point).
1) Check your fans, make sure they are plugged in correctly (the CPU fan has a fan connector JUST for the CPU fan. Look in the book to find out which one.
2) Check the on off and make sure it is set to 0.
3) Check and make sure your Power SW connector is correctly attached
4) Connect the power cord to the PS
5) Push the Power Switch on the front and note the CPU fan is turning.
6) Push the delete key (or whatever) on the keyboard to enter the bios
7) Go to the PC Health screen and document for 15 minutes the system time at 5 minute intervals.
8) Set the shutdown temp to 65C.
9) Check the RAM timings and document they are correct or are on automatic.
10) Save and exit.
If your temp rises sharply and goes abov 60C, make sure the CPU fan is turning. If it is, then the heat sink is not on correctly or there is some other problem. Contact your instructor for help and turn the machine off immediately by setting the 0/1 PS switch to 0 and unplug the power cord. Put a note on the machine that says "HEAT" so we can solve the problem.
