The Most dangerous thing you can do. You must be cautious in this step as you will bend the pins on the CPU and it may never work again.
For this lab, you need to put the CPU in the system and attach the heat sink.
Open the ZIF arm.
Line up the CPU gold triangle or pin shapes to match the ZIF.
Carefully, put the CPU in the ZIF socket. You need NO PRESSURE or FORCE on the CPU. If it doesn't fall right into the ZIF, you don't have it lined up properly. Try not to touch the top of the CPU.
Close the lever.
The Heat sink has to have the plastic cover removed from the bottom. Place the heat sink as close as you can to the middle of the CPU and then lock it down.
The clips on the HS are hard to connect so be sure you understand what you are doing before you start or you will smear heat sink goo all over the place. Don't touch the bottom of the heat sink.
Be sure the clips are fastened and the lock is turned. See me for help if you need it. Attach the fan connector. Document all.
