CIS 100: Lab 12 Fall 2008

First Identify all the settings for overclocking in the bios (it would help to read the manual)

Second establish a baseline benchmark using futuremark or something.

Now, test the various settings and report on several things:

Base Benchmark

Change made

Max Temp

New Benchmark

Optimize your system and document.

Follow on notes: This particular mobo does not have an automatic overclock setting. There are only manual voltage increases and FSB mods. Thus, if you just want to report the baseline benchmark that will be fine.

For the benchmarks, we used Sandra (SiSoftware) and ran the Performance wizard (button on the top bar says tools). This will generate a benchmark code. Current ranges from 280-350 but may be outside that.

Several people thought they had found an overclock setting but it was only for PCIE (video cards).
